About
Adam Cronin is the founder of SOMA Fitness & Performance based in South Beach and Aventura in South Florida, a company dedicated to changing lives through exercise. Previously, he served as Director of Education for Evolution Studio, NYC, as well as National Manager of the Equinox Fitness Training Institute under Dr. Paul Juris (currently Director of the Cybex Institute), teaching 3000+ lecture hours and certifying 2000+ trainers. Furthermore, Adam was the Personal Training Manager of Equinox Fitness clubs’ largest personal training operation at the flagship location on Greenwich Avenue in NYC (voted “Best Gym in NY” by New York Magazine in 2002).
Adam is also a partner of Kettlebell Concepts (www.kettlebellconcepts.com) , a company dedicated to the research and education of this unique and powerful modality. He is the lead author of the company’s course texts and DVD, and part of the first kettlebell infomercial, “Kettlenetics” by Gaiam, currently airing nationally. In addition, he co-created with Michelle Khai and Dr. Tedd Keating the 1st kettlebell research in English, which they published and presented at the NSCA National Conference, ‘04. He also trained the 1st American born world champion of kettlebell competition, Lorna Kleidman (www.lornakleidman.com).
Adam is a USA Weightlifting Senior and Sport Performance Coach, LWC referee, and former competitive Olympic weightlifter, having won gold at the East Coast Gold Cup Challenge ’02-’03, coached over 100 athletes to competition, and learned directly from Leo Totten (USA Weightlifting, Olympic Head Team Coach). In addition, he is a KMX-PGA Golf Fitness Coach, learning directly from the creator of the program, Dr. Paul Juris, at the PGA of America headquarters, ACSM-HFI, AAHRP-MES, and has managed the training programs of a wide variety of clientele, including many celebrities, world renown dance companies including the Miami City Ballet and Cirque de Soliel, pro to amateur athletes, critically disabled, a two-time Olympic Silver Medalist Equestrian Jumper, a Heavyweight World Champion boxer, the first American born International Master of Sport in kettlebell competition, and many more extraordinary individuals. Adam is a Continuing Education Provider for: NSCA, NASM, ACSM, ACE, ISSA, NCSF, and AAFA.
Having studied the science of human movement (biomechanics and motor learning),contextually based activity & performance enhancement program creation is his forte, having created programming for golf, equestrian, kite surfing, tennis, sex, wrestling, martial arts, squash, skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, mountaineering, sex, ballet & more.
